Use of weathering steel
Due to its excellent corrosion resistance, weathering steel has been widely used in steel structures such as buildings, vehicles, bridges, towers, etc. There are three main ways to use weathering steel: bare use, coating use and rust layer stabilization.
1. Exposed use:
The most common use of weathering steel is exposed. Generally, after 3 to 10 years, the rust layer on the surface of weathering steel gradually stabilizes, the corrosion development slows down, and the appearance is beautiful chocolate color.
Because the stabilization process of the rust layer of the weathering steel is affected by the chemical composition of the steel, the use environment, the stagnant water and dust in the structural details, and the mechanical wear and other conditions, if improperly used, the formation conditions of the stable rust layer will be damaged, and the weathering steel will also produce serious corrosion.
2. Application of coating:
In many departments such as buildings, bridges, vehicles, etc., weathering steel, like ordinary steel, is mostly used for coating. 3. Use after stabilization:
