What is Hot rolled carbon steel plate?

Hot rolled carbon steel plate, refers to the width greater than or equal to 600mm, the thickness of 0.35-200mm steel plate, according to the thickness can be divided into medium-thick plate (thickness greater than 4mm) and thin plate (thickness of 0.35 ~ 4mm) two kinds.
The main mass fraction is less than 2.11% without the inclusion of deliberately added alloying elements steel. Carbon steel usually contains a small amount of silicon, manganese, sulfur and phosphorus in addition to carbon.
Hot-rolled steel plate can destroy the casting organization of the ingot, refine the grain of steel, and eliminate microstructure defects, so that the steel organization is dense and the mechanical properties are improved. This improvement is mainly reflected along the rolling direction, so that the steel is no longer isotropic to a certain extent; bubbles, cracks and looseness formed during casting can also be welded together under the action of high temperature and pressure.
Hot-rolled steel plate has low hardness, easy processing and good ductility. The strength of hot rolled steel plate is relatively low, the surface quality is poor (oxidation low finish), but the plasticity is good, generally for the thick plate, cold rolled plate, high strength, high hardness, high surface finish, generally for the thin plate, can be used as a stamping plate.
