What is Food Grade Stainless Steel Coil?

Food grade stainless steel is a metal material that will not dissolve various alloys and harmful substances in the process of using acid and alkali in food production.

Most stainless steel containers, pipes and food contact equipment are made of 304 or 316 austenitic stainless steel.
17% chromic ferritic stainless steel 1.4016 (type 430) is also widely used in applications with low corrosion resistance requirements such as splash plates, enclosures and equipment enclosures.
In addition to these non-hardenable austenitic and ferritic types, higher strength "duplex" types, such as 1.4362 (SAF2304) and 1.4462 (2205) grades, can be used in "warm" conditions (i.e. more than 50 ° C), where stress corrosion cracking (SCC) may have corrosion risks, such as in the spray tank of a brewery.

Hardenable "martensitic" type stainless steel is widely used in cutting and grinding applications, especially cutting tools.
